Service Above Self Scholarship Essay

Service above self is a concept that has been instilled in me since I was a child and has become a core part of who I am, and how I live my life. Everyday I strive to help those around me and push myself to see how far I can go in helping others both in my local community and on a global scale.

As a recent high school graduate, I have had the opportunity to take part in multiple service projects. From working in soup kitchens to mentoring younger kids, I have found a true passion for helping people. I have also spent time abroad volunteering with organizations that are dedicated to helping people in developing countries. Through these experiences, I have learned the value of helping others and the true meaning of service above self.

It is my hope to one day use my skills and experience to find a career that focuses on advocating for those in need around the world.
